| Are we sure the catchment area is getting larger? When I started at CCS (in 1996), two of my classmates lived in Brentford (near the station) and Osterley. Yet my two friends have younger siblings (young enough that we were in 6th form by which time they were applying for secondary school and sibling preference doesn't count if the sibling is in 6th form) The younger siblings, living in the same house as my friends did in 1996, were too far away to get in to Year 7 and they were refused a place. Likewise, a friend who lived in Ealing won a place at CCS in 1996, yet her neighbours' daughter was recently turned down for being too far away. So perhaps the geographical area it recruits the year sevens from has shrunk since 1996, rather than grown? |
