| "In some schools kids have to wear the uniform - that might include a cross for example (green school) which you might regard as hypocricy for yourself, so wouldnt want to send your kids there." I went to The Green School (years ago) & we didn't have to wear a cross. As part of the selection process I was interviewed by the Head Teacher, my parents were interviewed & we had to prove we attended church, but as it was a grammar school the main admissions criterion was 11+ results. My son attends a state Church of England school & we chose it because *generally* the moral ethos/discipline/manners at a religious school tends to be greater than at a non-religious school...please note, I did say generally! (but definitely at my son's school & at The Green School in my time). |
