Tom, I'd argue that consistent and regular observations over a prolonged period goes beyond anecdote and does have some evidential value. To persuade me that what I have seen is incorrect you are supply data which is both opaque and frankly beyond my capabilities to properly interpret but I do know that in the past you have made assertions based on data which, when I looked in more detail, appeared to be advocacy for a preconceived point of view rather than a rigorous analysis of what the numbers were actually showing. Therefore, for the time being, I am inclined to remain convinced that my own observations are correct. More so since the beginning of this discussion since Jeremy's explanation have made the apparent contradictions in what I have observed make sense. What is really needed is somebody with the necessary skillset but without preconceived opinions to take a proper look at the available data and tell us what is actually happening. |
