Interesting to hear both these replies. I am talking about the centre of Chiswick when I say I'm observing more static traffic and I rarely get up to the western end. Robert may be on the High Road at different times of day to me - I would tend to be there more at the weekend and in the evenings. What I would add is that although it seems to me that gridlock has become more common there are also occasions in which all traffic seems to have completely disappeared even though it is a time when you would expect it to be busy. I can only guess this has something to do with the way Chiswick High Road fits into the broader traffic management objectives of TfL. |
