Francis, Hounslow also did a survey on Chiswick High Rd in 2016. Retailers estimated 20% of customers came by car. The actual figure was 8%. The percentages may vary from location to location but the key point is the same irrespective of location. Retailers consistently overestimate the proportion of their customers coming by car. You seem to be doubling down presenting anecdotes as fact 'observing static traffic in the centre of Chiswick was a relative rare event prior to 2020 ' Can you present some actual data rather than anecdotes? What do your 'observations' say the average time taken to travel the length of Chiswick High Rd during the morning peak was in 2015 and what is it now? |
