Think it very much depends where you are on the High Road. I walk down from Acton Lane fairly regularly and queues back up to the roundabout by Chiswick Park station are a near constant as are queues trailing back as far as I can see from the junction with the High Road back towards Chiswick Roundabout. It looks like they might be deliberately limiting the amount of traffic that gets into the centre of Chiswick which may explain why, if you walk in that part you perceive there to be less traffic. Although you may have reduced use of your vehicle, I was under the impression that the number of journeys being made is back up to that seen before the pandemic. People may be avoiding CHR because of the congestion but that seems to have created extra pressure on the back streets around Acton Green which have more traffic on them than I have ever seen before. |
