There is data to test Francis’s latest anecdote-based hypothesis. As mentioned earlier, the 267 average running times have not suffered during the evening peak. TfL also give the standard deviation, so according to Francis this should have increased significantly, reflecting the much larger variability in travel time. In fact comparing the first two weeks in 2020 with the same period in 2022 it has hardly shifted, increasing by less than 20 seconds. |
