| No sure why you think the additional sessions are such a big issue but TfL probably felt that they should agree to include them because the consultation was taking place during the summer holidays. This wasn't by design as it was meant to take place earlier but was delayed by the election. In the event of a judicial review, which must be a strong possibility given the financial muscle of some of the people impacted by the proposals, it will probably be argued that the consultation was half hearted, poorly publicised and inadequate. Agreeing to extra sessions would undermine this contention and in the context of the potential cost of delays to the scheme due to legal challenges, would seem to be money well spent. |
