| The stated purpose of an extra westbound lane seems to be to allow more traffic to funnel into the A316 and to remove the danger associated with the two lanes leaving the roundabout converging into one. But the (extra?) traffic will have merge anyway a bit further on as the westbound A316 is single lane with a series of traffic lights. And to then block direct access to Church Street to be replaced by a ludicrous doubling back along a service road seems likely to create more dangers. What would be useful would be an extra filter lane so northbound A316 traffic banned from Grove Park can make a left onto the westbound A4 without such an extended wait at the traffic lights. |
