| I don't object to the scheme. If TfL say it is necessary then I can accept that. What I don't accept is its claim that the primary reason is road safety particularly of motorcyclists who are the most vulnerable road users of the Hogarth Roundabout. The data that we have shows that there was just collision involving a motorcyclist being seriously injured in the most recent year for which data is available and that took place on the north side of the roundabout where the road configuration will remain largely unchanged. There may be more unpublished data which makes the case better and if so TfL should release it. However, in its absence nobody can argue that the justification for this multi-million pound road widening project has been made on safety grounds. |
