| We will see what the actual figures are Hammersmith Bridge had about 20k vehicles per day. During the closure in the 1990s, 30% of this traffic evaporated during the closure and that is about the average seen across a large number of schemes so that would leave about 14k to be re-distributed. Even if an additional 4k per day going over Putney Bridge is an underestimate and it was 8k, the traffic going over the bridge would be back to 50k per day which is the same volume of daily traffic that went over bridge from 2000 to about 2007, so hardly exceptional. |
