| Loraine, this was a very large scale survey, of 15,700 Londoners including 1,821 disabled people. It's a direct comparison: 15% disabled people sometimes cycle compared to 18% non-disabled. 22% of disabled people can't ride a bike compared to 15% of non-disabled people. Isabelle Clement is a disabled cyclist, and her words echo what other disabled people responding to this survey with 20% who were aware of them indicating they would definitely or probably use segregated cycleways. I'm not sure how a Chiswick residency has anything to do with how disabled people are able to access independent ways of getting about town. You've questioned me before on just this point and evidently forgotten the answer: I moved to Chiswick in 2001. |
