| "What are the people of Chiswick going to do to make their lives better?" You tell me, what are we elderly, disabled people to do? I live in Grove Park and am totally dependent on my car to get about and live as independent a life as possible. I try to get out most days. Solitude leads to loneliness and isolation! I use local restaurants, visit Olympic Cinemas regularly, go to the theatre in Richmond, visit friends locally and over the river in Richmond, Twickenham and family in Kent and Sussex. Gridlocked roads are not very helpful at all. I go to a hairdresser in Hammersmith and a dentist in West Ealing. Thankfully my GP is in Grove Park but the hospitals are further flung. I also rely on grocery deliveries for bulky heavy goods. I carry home perishable items. Taking to a bike is NOT an option so over to you stalwart bikers - what do you suggest, incarceration or euthanasia - after all I'm well past my use by date! |
