| At my next birthday I will be 70 and as I get older my childhood illness of Polio has started to present mobility problems. My number of steps per day is circa 4,000 and for many reasons I could not enjoy my lifestyle without a car. I'm certain that many people I know are in a similar situation. Cycling is not the cure all panacea to pollution especially with an aging population. I've lived on Chiswick High Road since 1974 and Lungs and Heart, despite my 4 walks a day breathing in the fumes from vehicles, are holding up well, so perhaps stop scaremongering about the evils of motorised transport and the alleged benefits of CS9, and take a more pragmatic view that's relevant to the 21st century rather than the 19th or early 20th century. |
