| Since the last tally only Charlotte has contributed another idea I think (thanks Charlotte). I'll stick sacking the Mayor in the questionable ideas bucket as it may be desirable to some but it is not going to alleviate the traffic congestion casused by the closure of Hammermsith Bridge to motor vehicles for the next three years while repairs take place. I'll add one of my own as I've noticed that other quite vocal residents benefit from living on streets which have had what would now be considered radical interventions by some - namely conversion to one way. 1. Road pricing 2. Invest more in publicly-owned transport (may require a Corbyn government) 3. 4-day working week 4. Regulating apps like Waze 5. Filtered permeability for residential streets 6. Converting streets to one way 7. Halting developments and construction in LBH 8. Creating more cycle paths to make alternative local transport viable for more people 9. Those who can choosing alternative transport for local journeys (I think Andrew and I have a different view of what constitutes expensive - clue: I don't see many Uber drivers in Astons or Discoverys) 10. Cargo bike delivery schemes (yes the catering trade is well serviced but others are not and if such a scheme is demonstrably beneficial for Castelnau traders who rely on car deliveries to customers in Hammersmith and Fulham then it is not a leap to imagine them benefiting businesses in Chiswick) 11. Rickshaw taxi services (good for the bridge but perhaps less relevant and practical in W4) Any more? |
