Alan, are you always so patronising? I have never objected to people having different views from myself. It's healthy to hold different viewpoints and discuss them rationally. That's what I mean by 'live and let live.' I didn't specifically state the New Testament altho even decades later actions and events get misinterpreted. We know that happens even with recent history. Two people can witness exactly the same event and come up with different interpretations. Therefore we can argue till the cows come home about how much of the Bible is factualy true. I am not disputing that a Jewish philosopher/prophet named Jesus may have lived 2000 years ago, in the same way that I do not know with any certainty that Moses, Abraham or Adam existed. Religion doesn't intimidate me at all except when it is used to further an unscrupulous power base. |
