You evidentally did not read the proposal. Try again. The very purpose of the proposal is to ensure that knowledge (a justified truth rather than opinion) about the many faiths that are held within our modern society is disseminated through the education system so that children are aware that they are at liberty to make up their own minds and are not "indoctrinated". That sword cuts both ways so how can you justify your objection? Most schools are non-demonational whereas most people are not atheist so perhaps the balance is not as you perceive it. I see no problem with tax paying parents wishing to have their children educated in an environment that supports their beliefs. The problem is people like you who wish to deny them that choice. To suggest that faith schools purpose is to indoctrinate would surely have been picked up by H.M Inspectorate as child abuse if it had an iota to truth to it. Your suggestion is arogant; insulting to teachers, parents and children in particular who tend to have a greater sense of awareness than you give them credit for. On the question of choice, you should know that Catholic sponsored schools, for example, tend to receive more applications for places than their non-demoniational neighbours. If your view were representative of a significant number of parents, that would not be the case would it? Your intolerance is typical of aetheists. I am not defending "creationism" as a "religion" but as I understand it, the creationist's interpretation of knowledge (science) is as valid as the atheist's if it is based on a search for the truth. You have your system of beliefs and others have theirs. Please lighten up, stop this anti semitic, anti christian and islamophobic nonsense. If you ever find proof of the non existance of a creator, do let us know until then I suggest you Live and Let live. |
