I use buses along that route fairly often. Making them slower is part of the overall policy of bringing road traffic in London to a grinding halt. The bright sparks, led by Sadiq Khan, think by making driving in London nigh on impossible they will cause everyone to hop onto a bike to get around. Only the LCC think this is a great thing. In a mature society they should be looking at how to improve traffic flows. Congestion isn’t caused by ‘too many cars’, it’s caused by poor road design, poor junction layouts and meddling with traffic signals. The more pinch points you in place, the worse it makes it. There is a place for cycling, but it’s not the great panacea advocated by those on this forum. |
