| If there is space to have a cycle lane, wouldn't there be space to have a dedicated bus lanes on either side of Chiswick High Road instead? Maybe be a physical barrier to ensure no car use it at any time, and if not a barrier it could be camera monitored. Bikes could use it, but it wouldn't be as safe for them as a dedicated cycle lane. That would reduce the capacity or cars in the same way as the cycle lane would so car use should, based on the evidence, fall. Also the bus service should be much better increasing bus use and further reducing car use. |
