Just to cover several points here: - Most 'historic LTNs' pre-date legislation that introduced requirements for statutory consultation so there wouldn't have been any consultation. They would just have done it. Also, statuory consultation isn't the same as 'tell us your opinion' consultation and there is no requirement at all for councils to do this before a scheme. - Fishers Lane is being done as part of a cycle route, not a LTN, and is intended to be part of a north-south link to Chiswick. Even Cllr Biddolph highlighted the need for north-south cycle links although of course she failed to say what she believed would be the best option and would undoubtedly have opposed any option. - "council's share data with SatNav providers"/. What does that actually mean? You are being naive if you think that SatNav providers give a toss what routes they send cars down/ It is just algorithms remorselessly seeking out time savings of 30 seconds and they sure as hell aren't going to rewrite their algorithms and co-operate and share data with other SatNav providers just because some councils ask them. Why should they? Your idea is pure cloud cuckoo land. |
