The bus lane stretched back to the traffic lights at Goldhawk Road, and beyond. How could the queue for general traffic at the bus gate obstruct buses on the stretch of road that it controlled? A quick flick through the Street View images over the years show no "constant queue". The lights at Chiswick Lane, not the bus gate, were the prime restriction on general traffic flow. The existing restriction at the end of Beverly Road stopped cars bypassing the original bus gate. |
