Tom, this is strange discussing the real world with you. The 'last year' was during a pandemic. Before then, there was a near constant queue of traffic along that stretch of CHR, caused by the bus gate. Calvi-Freeman stated it was inevitable. If you read my post carefully, it states that at peak times the queues stretched back along CHR and onto King Street. There is no bus lane there and buses would be help in the queue. Once they reached the bus lane it was fine. A lot like the bus lane on Kew Bridge, the bus gate did more harm than good. I do not see why you are so obsessed with a feature that has now been removed? If you liked it then you must be dismayed at the removal of the bus gate and the loss of the bus line there? The main point, if you recall, is the impact of the new bus gate before Acton Lane. This acts to hold traffic back. It then displaces it onto residential roads. The reason it exists is to stop congestion along CHR with the segrated cycle lane. TFL accept this is happening. |
