"but seriously do you think people will walk 10 minutes on a cold and possibly wet winters evening to collect a bike?" No, I don't. I also don't think people will use a cycle superhighway on a wet winters evening or even a wet summers evening for that matter. "I hope that in the future Mobikes will be London wide" Uh...Santander bikes are much further along in being London wide. They even pay for it. Better to have evolved the existing system which has further reach if, in fact, you're looking to connect the city by bike. The job was almost done. But no, let's just literally throw stuff out there and see what sticks, shall we? "Free advertising and rates" Sorry, but are you trying to compare a privately held, investor-backed Chinese business with TfL? Any other privately held business, specifically any one with access to using the pavement, would have to pay a fee for doing so. I'll shut up when I don't have to pay a fee to put table out or my neighbor doesn't to put an A-board out. Try supporting local businesses before defending the Chinese ones valued at 3 billion is it? |
