"Agreed, but in most cases they are 'dumped' by users, not by Mobike. Mobike should be doing much more to educate/incent its users to park the bikes considerately" Disagree, Ken. Simple visual survey will tell you that the clusters of neatly organized Mobikes scattered around town are not the result of users suddenly, miraculously being orderly, respectful and courteous. The majority of those clusters remain intact for days indicating they are not being used. Those that are being used show up perpendicular to the accessible crosswalks, laying flat or simply here there and everywhere. Chiswick never got the orange tape hubs. Orange tape. Really? That'll do the trick? Santander should be the option. Look at the Mobike map and there is one cluster in the west and one in the east and that's it for their territory. After that, if you leave a bike anywhere other than those two zones you get a fine. What's the point? The existing network/infrastructure for bike share is Santander. That system needs to be extended further with proper hubs and a protocol to use those hubs or you get fined. You all bang on about infrastructure and that's exactly what exists with Santander. Mobike has none. And no, they are not paying anything to the council as Jo Biddolph confirmed in her correspondence to LBH earlier in this thread. |
