| Mark Evans suggested " Anyone who can cycle on a sustained basis at 3mph is an exceptionally skilled cyclist. " I looked it up beforehand " The average walking speed of an adult is 3 to 4 miles per hour " Providing you keep one hand on the brake, you can maintain that speed quite easily. As in some situations you have to do in any case, when following pedestrians with no possible opportunity of overtaking . The only possible reason for using parks in the first place is as a short cut* - say across Ravenscourt Park - Ravenscourt Gdns Paddenswick Rd . As at 3mph its still a lot quicker than going the long way around. *Although quite why you're so concerned *both* with the northern entrance to Southfield Park *and* congestion on Acton Lane and South Parade, when by turning left on exiting Southfield Park and proceeding Southfield Road, The Avenue you avoid, both, is another matter. michael adams ... |
