| Based on the available information this sounds like being an accident on a multi-use path in a multi-use park. Did the cyclist deliberately run into the dog? Did the dog deliberately get into the cyclist's path? I'm going out on a limb here: no to both questions. It was an accident. The cyclist went over his handlebars. Dare I wonder what speed he was going at, how experienced on a bike was he at the time and were his back brakes in good working order? I am a cyclist, particularly wary and careful of dogs, toddlers, scooters and youngsters on bikes. He was injured which is very unfortunate. Again, I do wonder if anger at this accident is making him seek financial reparations? Remove the anger and it is still just an accident, a sequence of unanticipated events, 'one of those things'. Good luck to both people and their legal representatives. |
