I regularly both cycling and walk my dog on Acton Green. The case currently featured on the front page had been related to me by other dog walkers but I thought it was apocryphal. Obviously as it a live case I'll avoid talking about the specifics but I've always treated the pathway across the green as being a pedestrian priority one and that would include for those with four legs. That seems to be pretty much the universal attitude among cyclists using the path. The suggestion that has been raised that cycling may be banned due to a local bye law is an alarming one. It would mean that cyclists would be forced to use the increasingly congested roads next to the park. |
