| Don't recall the signs ever being any different. Certainly there has never been a no cycling sign on Acton Green or Chiswick Back Common. Reading some of the opinions expressed on this matter it looks like that technically you are not supposed to cycle across a common but no local authority is going to enforce that rule. It probably does mean that it isn't a good idea to sue someone if you are on a bike and think they caused you to have an accident. Best thing to do is just ride really carefull on the footpath which, in my experience, everyone does. |
