| Mark Evans explained "The problem is that the roads are so narrow that if the traffic is static it is impossible to make progress on a bike." In most situations although possibly not here, traffic is usually static only in one direction. And so its usually possible to make steady progress down the other "wrong" empty side of the road while keeping a sharp lookout for cars entering from side roads on the right and for spaces ahead should it be necessary to duck in in the face of the odd oncoming car. Approaching traffic lights which are about to change can of course present another challenge. michael adams |
