Stewart, I note that the figures you quoted on benefit fraud are 'government estimates' Like the figures for illegal immigrants, which Migration Watch disputes robustly. If they are just estimates, how accurate are they and do people therefore not have a right to challenge them? The early posters on this thread seemed to sneer at the 'ignorant' public for daring to challenge these 'estimates' as it does not seem to tally with what they experience. Benefit fraud is by definition behind the scenes. There may be huge scams - some of which have been uncovered recently - that the government yet knows nothing about. It may be that either side would struggle to justify any figures. |
