"And nasty thing happen to nasty people to enable you all to sleep restfully in your beds and not to lie awake wetting them." And this justifies torture (which is generally considered to be the kind of thing practiced by regimes people joined the British Army to fight *against* rather than *alongside and occasionally joining in*) how? What price our precious moral high ground and liberties if we gleefully descend to the levels of people who oppose them? What the shameful acceptance that torture is something we do is is the consequence of continually electing the nasty people to government rather than fighting them. |
