"a third runawyay means more flights and therefore a higher probability of accidents." Yes, David, statistically speaking, three runnyweys are likely to result in more accidents than two runwées. I had thought that Kevin had somehow linked the number of runweighs with "less success", but I think he was just saying that another such accident might be more serious. The risk is not just the higher number of flights that can be handled with three rhunwayse but also the greater complexity, and hence opportunity for error, of controlling landings on two or even three runwhayz. (However, I'm not suggesting that such risks are as high as those that we take for granted every day, every time we get in our cars or cross the road or even walk down stairs.) |
