"I noted again today, that aircraft approaching were not lowering undercarriages until well past TG station." I don't think a sample of a few aircraft while you were waiting for a train is conclusive of any sort of trend. There are various reasons why it might be useful to lower the undercarriage early, e.g. to reduce speed so as not get too close to the one in front. I've read nothing to suggest that this has anything to do with the crash of BA038. "are these low temperatures so unusual at these altitudes?" It has been remarked upon by at least two pilots who flew that day, so I guess it is unusual. "I don't think I'm alone in visualising this happening again with 3 runways in operation and less success." I fail to see the logic behind that statement. What has the number of runways got to do with the accident? |
