| I agree 100% Will. I have the feeling and please correct me if I'm wrong, the pension scheme in the UK, much like Australia aims at best to supply a minimum standard of living. I believe it's the same for welfare except it's only designed to be short term. Superannuation is meant to be your key saving for retirement but in recent years that has gone down hill as well. It may barely be enough for a minimal standard of living but alternate investments are becoming a requirement for a decent lifestyle on retirement. The easier the benefits are to obtain the more people will take advantage of it. |
