| Lynette, You are mistaken - there are hostels available for single homeless people which only require a resident to be eligible for housing benefit. For obvious reasons they're usually not very nice places to be, but they cost little and provide shelter and support to allow homeless people to get back on their feet. Homelessness is a complex issue which doesn't necessarily go hand in hand with having no contribution to make to society. Before we start namecalling, remember that a significant number of homeless people are ex-services. It's also, sadly but not unexpectedly, a fate that awaits many people who've been in care as children. |
