| 'Also, I find it "distasteful" that you have had to justify yourself... well done for investing wisely and making a profit.' Allow me to disagree. What I, together with a vast majority of Spaniards, find 'distasteful' is people like Lynnette who buy property in Spain for investment purposes while residing in the UK, which drives prices up, pushes the locals off the market and has resulted in the current price bubble that is posing a constant threat to the Spanish economy. Some Spanish governments have put new measures in place to stop this, like having to show proof of residency. British tv property programs have promptly rushed to give 'advice' on how to get around this by using tricks that are downright illegal in Spain. This is on top of regularly informing all and sundry on other illegal practices in order to get away with paying less tax or not at all, submerged economy being, apparently, absolutely acceptable for the English in these programs' view as long as it is practised in another country. 'You shouldn't have to justify the morality of your investments... well, maybe to your own family, but certainly not to the great unwashed!!!!' She certainly should, especially when she's tried to show herself a Mother Teresa in order to get away with a xenophobic statement. Where is the 'Outraged Brigade' now? Hypocrites! |
