"The lack of flexibility in the road network to respond to short term problems will be used as an argument against these schemes when they are next reviewed" Yes of course it will be. It already has during every consultation along with the other 782 arguments for objecting to safer streets. Sam Hearn focused on it right from the beginning saying that Grove Park needed to remain open as a relief valve in case of accidents or roadworks on the A4. The argument will continue to be as effective as it has been for the past four years. Safer street schemes that have been made permanent are not going to be reviewed again. They are in now. And they are not going to be suspended to turn them into dangerous relief roads whenever there are some roadworks in the area. |
