Andy Murray has explained rather better than I could why it is true to say that the decision on the CPZ will be made (in a public meeting) by the nine elected Chiswick Councillors. We have won a pyrrhic victory and Councillor Maynes' colleagues have now formally acknowledged the inequity of what was done and the system has now been changed. Unfortunately there is no realistic/practical way of reversing the impact of Councillor Mayne's decision. Technically the only way to roll things back would be to ask the residents of Park Road and part of Staveley Road to agree to it. They were consulted after the scheme had been in force for some time (a year as I recall?) and those who responded were massively in favour of retaining the scheme. |
