I'm glad Andy acknowledges that there is an objective problem where I live. It has nothing to do with Ed Mayne, or Park Road's CPZ and everything to do with our closeness to Chiswick Business Park. When I got home this morning at 7.15 every space on St Mary's Grove North had gone (there were still some at 0615) and not many spaces left on St Mary's Grove South. On one day not long ago I sought in vain for a space in mid morning on all the roads north of Gordon Road (on the day in question both Whitehall Park Road and Gardens were full (North and South). That morning may have been an exception, but we will see more and more days like it. And the street furniture argument doesn't wash. The street furniture we have now consists of cars parked back to back. As for the reduction of car spaces argument, there are good road safety reasons to stop some of the crazier parking we get at junctions, especially in the run up to 0900 at The Falcons School. |
