..and here are the new questions, below. NOTE: In 2010, the first question was: 'Do you have a problem parking in your street?' Ie, let's define the problem first.. The current CPZ in Park & Staveley Roads, which may or may not address a problem, but certainly is creating a problem for the surrounding streets, lasts from 10am to 12 noon, Monday to Friday. The paper form, and the online version below, lists the above choice as 3rd only, after 2 full-day options. This is called 'leading the witness', and this sort of skewed non-consultation is precisely the reason that persons such as myself get annoyed. Again, no other solutions to the complicated interconnected traffic / parking / transport issues of GP (which are important to many residents) are proposed. In the covering documents, though, much is made of the likely contraction of parking spaces caused by the construction and eventual usage of the BFC stadium, which will not have adequate parking, to which LBofH's answer is - have a CPZ, whether you like it or not. The covering note also says 'It is inevitable, if a scheme is introduced, that parking will be displaced into uncontrolled roads.... Should this occur, there will be an opportunity as part of the review process to extend the CPZ at a future date.' The previous 'consultation' (which ignored 400+ objections) said displacement was 'unlikely' from Park & Staveley Roads. Now it appears that, in the 'unlikely' event of some good burghers of GP being affected by neighbouring streets getting a CPZ , the only possible answer is for them to get their own. I won't mention the cost or the inconvenience, or the actual reduction in parking spaces, because people have a right to weigh up the pros and cons themselves, but I will mention the 85 new posts + signs that now clutter up Park & Staveley Roads, as per the law. These are the same signs about which the aforementioned form says: '... every effort will be made to keep signs and lines to a minimum.' This is pure sophistry - there are strict rules about many signs there must be, and there will be as many as the road regulations stipulate. See Park Road and see whether you like it. Here's the form: 1. Address Name Company Address Address 2 City/Town ZIP/Postal Code 2. Are you in favour of your road becoming a CPZ? Yes No 3.
