Have a look through the various threads where people have had their cars towed away whilst on holiday, had lengthy delays in receiving their renewed permits, had problems getting new permits when they change their car or have newly moved into the area, been fined because their permit has fallen off their windscreen, or have simply found that the CPZ means there are less parking spaces available in their road for residents to use. There is also an objection to having to pay the council for the right to park on a road where you are resident. Roads like Harvard Road and Park Road, where most residents have off-road parking, are now largely free of parked cars during the day, but residents in the Sutton Court/Fauconberg area are likely to find it much harder to park near their homes if a CPZ is introduced, and the same applies to those around Thames Road/SOTG. As far as the Lionel Road stadium is concerned, a matchday-only CPZ would solve any problems caused by those foolish enough to drive to matches, as it does at Twickenham. |
