Isn't it obvious that traders who claim that parking is the lifeblood of their business and then park their private vehicles in the public spaces outside their shops all day are either a bit dim or lying? I mean you'd have to be a bit dim yourself to not see the point. The usual zero sum thinking from the car lobby. Try telling the traders on Church St in Twickenham or Orford Road in Walthamstow that removing cars reduces revenue. What it actually does is make shopping streets more desirable and attracts more shoppers and more revenue. Grow the pie. |
