I've tried too Janice but with little success. It is a failure to understand this key point that means that people with zero experience in retail trade feel they can dismiss the views of those whose livelihood depends on it. I do worry about Paul. He now seems to have taken up monitoring the parking habits of local business owners he doesn't like. Not sure what his point is as it is perfectly understandable that someone might want to park near where they work. There is however a danger of over emphasising the importance of free parking. I was chatting to someone (not from Chiswick) who said that they would welcome Sunday parking charges in their area because for their, generally high net worth customers, it was the availability of a parking space rather than the cost that was the most important factor. Views are likely to be different depending on the type of business. |
