Kew Retail Park is not a great example to use for the power of parking to benefit retail as the site is slated for redevelopment with a significant reduction in parking spaces. Construction was due to start this year but I don't know what has happened. Someone has pointed out to me that this is now a statutory consultation, the public consultation already having taken place. That could mean that only statutory consultees like the police, the fire brigade and TfL will have their comments considered. If this is correct, the markets and local shops won't be able to influence the decision. Is anyone able to confirm this is the case? |
