Paul, As I mentioned previously, you are ignoring the fact that traffic volumes have been decreasing in London since at least 2000. Your response to a new development is more traffic = more roads but you haven't considered that an increase in traffic may just bring things back to the same level they were in the past anyway with the existing road network. Even if Bollo Lane was closed because of the West London Orbital Rail project, so what? There isn't some divine right that motor traffic should always be able to use the shortest possible distance, necessitating new roads. |
