Per other related posts elsewhere, if shops are "useless" and the High Road is nothing more than an entertainment emporium, indeed everything will be delivered. But Janice you're forgetting people will still be arranging for Ubers or, when they go bust, their competition or black cabs. Paul is absolutely correct in his questioning the validity of this magnitude of development in the absence of any transit plan. With this many units, the entirety of Bollo Lane should be reconsidered to accommodate all modes of transit. But no. Just look at any other area that his having multitudes of flats being constructed. Park Royal comes to mind. And TfL just yanked plans to build two tube stops to service the area. Not to mention Crossrail being delayed again. And the new towers going up by Carphone Warehouse offices on the A40. In what is already a crappy rotary (more or less) the additional stress created by those units will only make matters worse. Here's a thought: zoning. Don't build that there. Build it elsewhere where it belongs. But in the rush to solve the housing "crisis" towers just sprout like weeds with no forethought being given to how it will impact services and transit. Old Oak Road, anyone? How's that one gonna play out? The good news there is you will be able to multi-task. Sit in traffic long enough AND get a lube job. Brilliant. |
