You are forgetting that people in the business park will be crossing the road multiple times per day. Could be 4 times counting to and from Gunnersbury station and popping across for lunch at one of the food stalls or shops by the station. The 13,000 vehicles a day is the total number in both directions, so the same vehicle driving in and out of London would be counted as two. The people who use the pedestrian crossing multiple times during the day should be counted for each crossing if someone was actually counting. An average of 1.3 people per car is a bit high for London. It is about 1.1. That explains why a small number of people in cars take up a disproportionate amount of roadspace. Of course there are buses and other vehicles as well. It isn't a surprise that your obsession with cycling surfaces in a discussion which has had nothing to do with cycling. Suggest you look at the DfT traffic stats. |
