Tom Couple of points: 1) you can't say there are errors in the numbers when there are no errors. You make a big deal out of pointing out a 2.5% interest rate into perpetuity only devalues a £3.5m home by £800k instead of £1m. I'd like to point out that actually getting a 2.5% interest rate is very generous in the first place considering it's actually far closer to 2%. 2) Yes, the stamp duty hike is having an effect on house prices. Are you saying that the even bigger taxation of mansion tax will not have any additional effect? 3) The mere fact that we're discussing what type of air freshener is most effective kind of implies you accept there is an elephant in the kitchen |
