| David, Sorry for being a little harsh in my last response, but perhaps you can start to understand the amount of anger this tax generates. It is a tax that won't raise any revenue, will destroy hard working families, and a tax that will only work when it is extended into the general housing population - ie everyone 'better than average'. Ruth I believe is from the original Cadbury family who's predecessors did some truly marvelous things for our society. Assuming she understands the proposals then she must find it very hard to reconcile the truth of mansion tax with the party line. If she were to stand up against this tax, which will hit her intended constituency of B&I very hard, then she will get my vote. If she remains silent on it, then I have no faith in her for the future. |
