When I moved into Oxford Road South c1992, the wizard wheeze then being promulgated was to take the M4 down through my house to access the Hounslow loop railway line which would be reborn as an urban motorway as railways were old hat and cars were the future. From memory, I think this was a Steve Norris production. It sounds ultra-bonkers in hindsight but was a very serious proposal at the time and gave me pause for thought about buying there. |
